  2. This piece of art shows great contrast in the colors, such as the lightness of the fruit and the darkness of the background. It shows that the artist took time to carefully draw the fruit and the piece really invokes the essence of the fruit. I really like how the painter used the bright colors such as green yellow and orange to make the fruit really stand out from the grey background. I also think that the painting does a great job of showing all the details in the space. It shows all the little details of the cloth to the water jug. I think that this piece is a very good example of great still-life.

  3. This beautiful still-life by Paul Cezanne shows great contrast between the grayscale background and colorful but plain fruit. It is an wonderful example of a still life because it draws your eye to the fruit because of the plain background. I think that this painting was carefully constructed to show emphasis and visual pleasure.

  4. The Rideau, Cruchon et Compotieris by Paul Cezanne. This painting is a cezanne. This painting involves fruit, such as apples and pears. There is also a pot; mabye it has water inside it. This painting would be nice for a kitchen or living room. There are bright colors, which can make that part of the room "stand out." I think That this paint only has a few colors, however. The back is too dark for me. I dont really "feel" this painting like a good one. I feel like this is something in my mouth that is wanting me to stop looking at this picture.

I think this is a very modern peice with the colors. I really like this because the apples look muiti-colored like Granny Smith apples. The table looks set up in a way like random putting together, but still it looks like an earthquake and the fruit goes really nice with the back ground.

  8. This painting is well thought out, both aesthetically and as according to the principles of art and design. The picture is well balanced, with a relatively equal amount of positive figures on both sides. The pile of fruit and the vase balance each other out, yet the eye is drawn to the fruit because of its more outgoing color. This picture also displays movement because the way the painting was designed causes the eye to travel down the trail of fruit to the vase. I think that this is an expertly crafted masterpiece, and is successful in terms of both aesthetics and design

there is a stack of fruits in a bowl.
the wall has a lot of pale colors.
its makes the viewers focus on the fruit which is bright colors.
the lil curtain thing is dark pure colors.
it has a very detailed design.
the vase is like the same color as the wall but a lil darkker and mooorre detailledd.
there is a whjite blanket underneith the fruits. it makes it look more comforted
each green fruit is a different shadfe of green so it looks unquie.

  13. I love this artwork a lot. It catches my attention by the beautiful bright colors that are used in it.I love how the apples are different colors. You can tell that there are different apples such as granny smith and red delicious. It also looks like there is other types of fruits used such as pears, and oranges. The part about this painting that really catches my eye is mostly the colors. This artist must have been having a very calm feeling when this painting was painted.

  16. We like how the fruit is bright colors, but the back round is dark, so it gives us the meaning of the painting that the artist is showing. We can see that the artist was in a calm relaxing mood . He took the time to make it so detailed with a lot of strokes.

  22. We think this painting is very artistic. We like the details in all of the art, and how the fruit was bright and relastic and the background was kind of dull, (not in a bad way). 23. The colors make the fruit pop! Very nice detailing in the table cloth. We like those type of fruit. The fruit compared to the background has a pleasing effect on your eyes and soothes your soul. We have always liked French paintings since we were born practically. The shape of the water jug reminds me of a water drop. We like it a lot. A question that this artwork presents is why is the fruit all over the table? Was there an earthquake? Did an animal attack this bowl of fruit? Did a little kid throw a tantrum? Why oranges and pears? Why not a big watermelon or strawberries or broccoli or celery or carrots or apples or bananas or mangos or tangerines or papayas or plums or lemons or limes or grapes or corn or potatoes or two little kittens hugging each other or fish or bears or an infinite amount of possibilities that you can imagine. WHY ORANGES AND PEARS?? I think the artist had some sort of attachment to them or else he wouldn't have paint ed it. Are most fruit arranged in this way at that time period? Did everything look like a mess? Did people know how to clean up? Were there no such things as chores! This picture is extremely realistic and you can tell what every single thing is: Theres oranges, pears, water jug, table cloth, curtain, table, bowl, wall. the art shows great form in the shading of the spherical fruit. Apples, The colors are blue, orange, green, yellow, white, brown, gray, tan, black, navy. I wonder why the artist didn't include any people because that would've made it a little more interesting. Even though the artwork is so plain, it makes your mind think of many things, as shown above. We were able to think of a lot of possibilities in a very short time. What if we thought about it for an hour or two hours or a day or a week or a month or two months or a year or two years or a decade or two decades or a century or two centuries!! or what if you live forever and you have forever to ponder about this inspirational artwork. That would be amazing. I would rate a 9 out of 10. it doesn't get a 10 out of 10 because i wished it had watermelons because i like watermelons better than apples or pears. We are done now that is our analysis of this artwork.

  24. The piece of art, Rideau Cruchon Compotier, is one of my favorite paintings. When I first saw the painting, I began to want to eat some of the fruits in the picture.
It mostly uses the shades of green and some yellow and orange. At first, I thought that the drapes were a tree, but when I looked closer into the painting, I realized that they were drapes. I found remarkably amazed that they were drapes. Well all I can say is that this is a really cool, unique piece of art.

  27. This painting is by a famous artist named Paul Cezanne. This painting was very interesting because it was plain but at time he was able to express his feelings about the scene through his colors. The shape of the small jug is very elegant and modern to give his picture more to look at and to enjoy his painting. We both love the messy table cloth and to make it look 3 dimensional. We both like how in his painting, in the backround, he mixed all the colors, but lightly so it is hard to tell.

  28. This painting of Paul Cezanne illustrates many fruits, such as apples, oranges, and pears, towering in a wide rimmed bowl. The painting also shows some of the several fruits have fell out of the bowl and are now waiting to be knocked down off the small table on to the floor. In addition, a large jug settled on the table, taking up much space. Wrinkled cloth holds the fruits that have fallen out of the wide rimmed bowl, carelessly holding on to them until they fall down on to the floor. The background seems like a wall in an old apartment building that has lost its light blue color and has faded to become a drab grey. Next to the table lies a large item that is draped in a thick, sea green blanket.
Cezanne’s bright colors lie in the fruit he has painted while his background consists of neutral colors such as sea green and grey. His painting applies to many of the Elements of Art. The elements he demonstrates in this painting are the elements of shape, line, form, and space. He shows the shapes of the circles that are incorporated into the fruits and jug. The lines in this painting are not defined, but they are an extension that leads the viewer’s eye from one figure to another. Everything in this painting but the background is three-dimensional. Space is shown between several items in this painting. For example, the distance between the highest apple in the bowl and the orange in the far left is visible to the viewer’s eye.
I believe the message of “Rideau, Cruchon et Compotier”, which translates as “Curtain, an Earthenware Jug and Fruit Dish”, is that chaos is hidden in beauty. I believe this is the message because the fruit is centered in this painting and drags the most attention away from the other figures. The bright colors on the fruits are very attractive to the viewer’s eye. At first, you only notice these beautiful fruits, but when you look at the details of this masterpiece you notice how the fruits are scattered across the rugged cloth. The order of these fruit is unpleasing, it feels like you would just want to grab the fallen fruits and pile them up neatly in the bowl again. Plus, when you look closely at the background you see a faded grey wall and a crumpled sea green blanket, both very unattractive sights. Cezanne cleverly pulls your eye away from the dull figures of the painting by adding bright colors for your eyes to focus on. Then, you are expected to infer why some fruits are scattered across the small, tan table.
I found this masterpiece wisely created, and considering that it sold for about sixty million dollars, I would conclude that it is extremely successful.

  33. Rideau, Cruchon, et Comptier is a famous painting by Paul Cezanne, a French artist. This painting contains fruit both neatly stacked in a bowl, and carelessly scattered across the table, a jug of what I presume to be filled with water, a torn curtain, and a ruffled tablecoth.
The mixture of both the bright greens and oranges and the bland blue-gray color ouf the wall and the dull-blue curtain suggest uneasyness, as if Cezanne was unsure of the finished product of his work as he was painting or had mixed feelings and wanted it this way. The unsettled quality of the tablecloth, fruit, and curtain, points to a recent scuffle in that area. It could be that Cezanne was frustrated and upset during the making of the painting.
Surprisingly, this painting had been sold for sixty million dollars, an apalling amount of money for a painting. Whoever had bought this paining certainly had high hopes for it, considering the very same person could have bought out a small town with a similar amount.I for one believe this painting to be about a slightly sub-average painting, 6/10, in my opinion. It just doesn't play to my likings in a painting. I prefer a brighter, more intricate and complex painting along with more color variation.

  47. Rideau, Cruchon et Compotier. by Paul Cezanne is a still-life picture of fruits on a table with cloths, a jug, and a bowl that holds most of the fruit. Paul Cezanne's aspects and qualities in life of insecurity and masked expressions are shown by this intricate painting that has a still yet meaningful scene. This painting gives me the message that an unactive state of life will also be a prepared and ready one. I laud Cezanne's creative use of curved geometric shapes, the little details created by brief strokes, and the wrinkled effect of the cloths Cezanne made by using dark and light colors. However, I think that the painting should have had a window in the background.

And I think that it's pretty weird that they're all over the place the apples so I think he set up the still life like setting so they're more spread out and not just like in the little bowl where they would probably normally be. 60. Cezanne: Rideau, Cruchon et Compotier.

This painting shows a fruit bowl with apples, maybe oranges or peaches and pears in it; a jug , a piece of linen with fruits on top and a curtain. All elements are on top of a table. The background, a wall, is bluish-greenish. The fruits have vivid colors, and some may not be ripe (a green pear in the middle does not feel ripe). There is , on the left hand, a fruit which resembles a lemon, but I am not sure it is one.
This type of painting is called a “still life”. The overall color tone is green mixed with blue, apart from some fruits. It is a cold painting, quite precise but not totally so. The most interesting part of it is the fruits that contrast with the overall tone.
I think that the painting is a little dull. It does not creates impressions in my mind.

  66. Ramon and I enjoy the bright colors but, there is aside to the picture that is dull and less colorfull colors and that makes the other colors in the painting pop out more. we think that it is very creative because of the various amount of colors and the beautiful back round wich make the picture very attracting.

  68. I think that the painting looks detailed and colorful. There is a yellow table, a white table cloth, a vase, colorful fruits, and a green curtain. The painting is about a messy table that was scattered around. I think the painting was painted well.

  69. Hi The names be nick and mario from dat p dot five! (period 5)
This painting by Paul Cezanne is really exquizit and delightfully affable.

Mario likes this painting because...... of the numerous amounts of fruits and their layout on the canvas he also likes the cruchon (small jug) because it gives a very nice touch to a dream kitchen that I would really like to have. Also the cool colors make it seem like there is a nice breeze in the house.

Nick likes this painting because.............. i love the smooth color that goes from the background to the fruits to the awesome cruchon (small jug) i love th feeling i get when i look at it its visually pleasing.

  70. This artwork has cool, clean-cut, vivid colors. It makes me feel like I can jump into this masterpiece and steal a peach/pear. Yum yum, yum!!! :D It is soooooooo realistic and phenominal. The overlapping fruit portrays form, and it is absolutely not abstract, yet it is simple. You can tell that the background is mixed with other colors, such as green, blue, and orange.

  74. We really like the way the color of the apples contrast with the other fruit. We really like the color and texture of the curtain. We like the way the colors contrast, but don't clash. We like the small jug and the details of all the items. This picture is very intricately done.

  76. I like how this painting looks very much like a bowl of fruit. It may not be the most realistic painting but I can tell what the artist is trying to make people think. The bowl includes ripe green pears, fresh grown lemons, delicious apples, and other fruits. Overall, it is a wonderful painting.

  77. This painting is of a bowl of fruit and a vase in mostly green, blue, and orange. I think that this painting is very pretty and well-balanced but i dont really think that it is very original. There are many paintings of a bowl of fruit in the world and because this artist chose this as a subject it won't be as famous as others paintings are.

  79. this picture is very cool. The way that the curtain hangs down across the fruit makes it look flush throughout the entire picture. The fruit have such good shading that you feel that you can touch them. They are on a white blanket that stands uot and makes it look good.

  80. The picture is full of color and bright. All the colors used make this painting this painting at clam and peaceful. If you look from far away you may not notice all the details. But the closer you look you will see more than you thought. Also all the objects included make this painting balanced.

  81. We really liked the way that the artist used dull colors in the backround to bring out the fruit and pitcher. The drapes are very delicately placed in the way that they look so very real. The shadows are used carefully to bring out the light and find the source of it. There is a very small light patch on the pitcher, which is another detail that makes the painting look so real. The artist blended the paints for a smooth texture that is used for the backround that you can barely notice, but is significant in the painting.

  82. This piece of artwork is amazing the colors are vibrant. I like the way Chezanne painted still life, that is my favorite. I honestly think that this piece of artwork is a beautiful, magnificent, lovely, piece. I love the fact that Chezanne used citrus fruit the colors are more interesting than looking at some plain boring still life to picture and interpret in your own way. This piece makes me wonder about why Chezanne would paint fruit. Then i thought that they make a good model to paint. They dont move and never get tired. Their colors are beautiful.

  84. THIS PAINTING IS REALLY COOL. IT HAS SOME FRUIT IN IT.
THER IS QUITE A LOT OF FRUIT. IT WAS PROBABLY HIS LUNCH AFTER HE PAINTED.
THE CLOURS ARE VERY UNIQUE AND DIFFERENT.
IT HAS A NICE CONTRAST WITH THE DULL BLUE BACKGROUND AND WHITE VASE.
BUT THE CLOURS POP OUT AND CATCH MY ATTENTION.
    IT IS VERY NICE.

  90. When you first look at this artwork it kind of looks a bit boring but once you take notice of all the details that the artist put into it , you can see how complex it really is. For example, the way the cloth looks. It seems as if though you can almost reach out your hand and feel the cotton cloth. I also like the way he used light to make the fruit and vase look three dimensional. Our favorite part of this artwork would probably be the shadows that enhance the artwork to make it look more realistic, something that from personal expirience is very hard to accomplish.

  92. The painting that Paul Cezanne painted was great. It has many great features that make it a famous painting. What I like the most about this painting are the different colors and the tones of colors that he used. It make it look so unreal. Nobody really has a table in their house with all their fruits perfectly set. Fantasy is what everyone wants, so that makes it a great painting.

  93. I like how the background colors like the blanket, jug and wall are different shades of greenish-gray. It makes the fruit stand out and look really bright, especially on the white table cloth. I also like how the back wall is brushed with different shades and is not one solid boring color.
